Giving & Receiving Feedback

We know that good feedback helps individuals and organizations grow and improve.  In most organizations, employees at all levels say they want more feedback.

Despite our best intentions, feedback can fall flat, or worse yet, be taken poorly by the recipient and cause relationships and performance to recede rather than advance.

In this practical and highly interactive program, participants will learn to give feedback based on behavioral observations and frame feedback in a way that helps increase the probability that it will be heard and understood.  It will also help feedback recipients clarify what they have heard, confirm understanding, and make agreements on how to move forward.

Learning Objectives:  At the completion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Non-judgmentally evaluate behavior
  • Provide balanced feedback based on behavioral observation
  • Base feedback on agreed-upon standards
  • Use simple, yet powerful model to provide just-in-time feedback
  • Listen effectively and empathetically during feedback conversation
  • Receive and respond to feedback from others
