Conflict Management

Some people thrive on conflict, others run from it; still others avoid it all together.  The trick to prospering through conflict is to understand it and manage it effectively.  Proper conflict resolution can result in idea stimulation, better problem solving and even performance improvement.

In this highly interactive and practical program, participants learn the five conflict-management styles:  Competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating.  Participants will also learn to appropriately apply each style to resolve conflict and create optimal results.

Based on a self-assessment, you will receive a detailed report which describes your preferred conflict management style and provides practical information on modifying your style to achieve more successful outcomes when faced with a conflict.

Learning Objectives:  At the completion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Identify the five ways to manage conflict
  • Identify their preferred conflict management style
  • “Read” other peoples’ conflict style
  • Work more effectively with people who have a different conflict management style than their own
  • Apply each conflict style
  • Conduct more effective conflict management conversations
